An advanced lab in medical-surgical nursing focuses on providing nursing students and professionals with opportunities to develop and refine complex skills and critical thinking abilities necessary for the care of adult patients with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions. These labs often incorporate high-fidelity simulation and advanced technology to create realistic clinical scenarios. Here, also some key components and features are available i.e. High-Fidelity Simulators : They can display vital signs, have palpable pulses, breathe, and even speak, allowing students to practice assessment, diagnosis, and intervention in a safe environment. Examples include mannequins that can simulate cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, or other critical conditions, Realistic Clinical Settings: The lab is designed to replicate various healthcare environments, such as hospital rooms, intensive care units (ICUs), and even home care settings. This includes having actual hospital beds, bedside equipment (e.g., monitors, pumps, oxygen delivery systems), and supplies,  Advanced Airway Management: Endotracheal intubation, tracheostomy care and suctioning, mechanical ventilation management,  Complex Wound Care: Management of surgical wounds, burns, pressure ulcers, and other complex wounds, including advanced dressing techniques and negative pressure wound therapy, Medication Administration: Safe administration of high-risk medications, including intravenous infusions, blood products, and chemotherapy. Practice with infusion pumps and syringe pumps. Along with that, we also provide skill based demonstration of various critical procedures over the dummy. As an evaluatory method we use “return demonstration” procedures among the students.By oarticipating in the advance lab, students can gain a brief knowledge in advanced nursing skills and prepare them for clinical practice and future roles as skilled nirsing professionals.
