NUTRITION LAB

Nutrition plays a vital role in patient care, influencing health outcomes, recovery and quality of life. The  nutrition lab is well resourced and well furnished with two dining tables with covers, sufficient seating, electric kettle, a mixer grinder with jars, plates,  trays, glassware articles, refrigerator, Dinner Set,  Table mat, stove, weight machine and  other utensils and various nutrition chats. It is well ventilated and lighting and adequate water facilities. The well-equipped nutrition lab provides practical knowledge of how to plan a diet, keeping in mind the patient’s needs and requirements.

The students are-imparted knowledge to assess the nutrition needs, caloric requirement of different-age groups and during various disease conditions. By incorporating a nutrition lab into nursing curriculum forth 1st year GNM and B.Sc students acquire knowledge of nutrition for maintenance of optimum health at different stages of life and its application for practice of nutrition. Every year 1st year GNM and B.Sc students arrange a nutrition program the lab where they prepare various types of normal as well as therapeutic diet like: Bland diet, fluid diet, diabetic diet, cardiac diet etc.
